UK domain names have previously only been available for registration periods of two years at a time. I am pleased to announce this changes as of the 1st May 2012, when you will be able to register your UK domains for flexible periods from a minimum of one to a maximum of ten years.
This is great news as it creates flexibility:
- for those who want a relatively short registration for a new or temporary project
- provides reassurance to those with important trading names that they wish to register for as long as possible.
UK domain names can now also be renewed at any time within their lifecycle, so if you’ve just purchased a domain for an initial two year period but now want to extend this by an additional eight years to reach the maximum registration period of ten years – this is now possible via your billing account.
We hope you find this new service for your domain registrations helpful, however if you have any questions please do drop us a line.
